Mandi is a welcome addition to the core Chicago P.D. cast, which has suffered a number of losses in the past few years without securing as many additions.
Day one cast member Jesse Lee Soffer announced his exit in 2022. He joined the FBI spinoff FBI: International two years later, but that series was canceled in March. Next up was Tracy Spiridakos, who had played Detective Hailey Upton since season 4. Spiridakos exited Chicago P.D. in 2023, and Toya Turner announced her departure in June after only one season on the series.

Chicago P.D. is the second installment in the sprawling Chicago franchise – sometimes called the Chicago One franchise – created by Dick Wolf. The flagship series was Chicago Fire, which premiered in 2012, followed by Chicago P.D., which premiered in 2014 after a 2013 Chicago Fire backdoor pilot. Chicago Med and Chicago Justice premiered in 2015 and 2016, respectively, but the latter series was canceled after only one season.
While this will be Mandi’s first appearance on the Chicago universe, it won’t be her first foray into the world of Dick Wolf. The actress appeared in a January episode of FBI as Anna Fox, the seemingly innocent, abducted fiancée of an airlines employee who turns out to be the wife of a ruthless terrorist.

A Chilean-Iranian native to Los Angeles, Mandi also appeared in a memorable role on the second season of the political thriller The Night Agent. Mandi played Noor Taheri, an aide of the Ambassador of the Iranian mission to the United Nations who finds herself in a precarious position leaking information to the CIA in exchange for favors for her family.
