Men’s Essential Crew Tees
Price: $6.98
A simple men’s crewneck t-shirt for under $10 is a steal, but Ira Lysa, fashion designer with over 15 years in custom tailoring and founder of Imperial Alterations in Hoboken, New Jersey, pointed out its quality is a miss.
“[They] used to be on par with Eddie Bauer, now the latest wear out quickly and have poor fit,” Lysa wrote in an email.

Women’s Everyday High-Rise Ankle Leggings
Price: $9.98
These women’s high-rise leggings have a good rating on Sam’s Club’s website, but nearly 200 shoppers gave them three stars or under. According to recent reviews, the new updated style runs small, is thin and slides down while walking and working out.
Women’s Favorite Soft Jogger
Price: $9.96
The Member’s Mark women’s soft joggers have received positive reviews overall, and users say they’re soft and comfortable. However, recent reviewers complain they’re too short, and lighter colors are see-through. These might be a better fit for those with shorter legs, and darker colors are the safer bet.
Men’s General T-Shirts
Price: $16.98
According to Lysa, the XXL and XXXL sizes in the men’s six-pack of basic undershirts are small and inconsistent from supplier to supplier. “When they get misshapen after a couple washes, or your 2XL fits like a tight Large, this is not just a sizing error, it’s the result of bad fabric choices and lack of factory oversight,” she noted.
Women’s 2-Pack Bike Shorts
Price: $14.98
Although this wardrobe stable had some decent reviews, some shoppers commented they’re very thin. On the Sam’s Club website, shoppers wrote that these women’s bike shorts are nice and comfortable, but they’re see-through and don’t hold up very well over time. Others commented that they may be better as pajamas.
