Barbra Streisand’s mind is on family as she shares a rare photo of her stepson Josh Brolin on his wedding day.
Streisand, 83, posted a family photo from Brolin, 57, and Kathryn Boyd Brolin’s wedding in 2016 to Instagram on July 15. In the sentimental picture, the bride and groom stand in the center of Streisand, who is holding a miniature floral bouquet, and her husband, James Brolin.
“The secret of life is…celebrating love with our family. #thesecretoflife,” The Way We Were singer captioned the photo.

Streisand encouraged her fans to listen to her new album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, which was released June 27. The album is a sequel to her 2013 album Partners and includes a collection of duets. Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande are notable features on the project.

In June, Streisand told PEOPLE how family being the “secret of life” inspired her latest project.
“It’s wonderful to have family,” Streisand said. “And that’s how The Secret of Life title came — [the secret] is several things, but one of them is family.”
The Funny Girl actress showed support for Josh during the premiere of Sicario: Day of the Soldado in 2018. They posed together, taking some funny photos, including one where they puckered up for a kiss on the lips.
Josh’s father, 84, was also present at the premiere, along with Kathryn, 37, who was pregnant at the time with the couple’s first child, Westlyn Reign. The four of them posed for a sweet family photo.
“My wife got her a bracelet that said ‘Grandma’ on it and she started crying,” Josh said of Streisand to PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly for SiriusXM’s EW Radio Spotlight in 2018.

PEOPLE recently caught up with James, who’s been married to Streisand for 27 years. He recalled having a thing for female singers when approached with the idea of going on a blind date.

“That night was something. It was like somebody called and said, ‘Would you be interested in a date with her?’ ” the Westworld actor shared. “And what I said was, ‘I like what she says between songs,’ and I was a real nut for women singers — especially jazz and bar singers and romantic singers at the time. So that got my interest.”
“I had been out of a marriage for three years and really saying, ‘Who needs that again?’ But we both agreed to go. We’re on our way and halfway there, we both picked up the phone to cancel and something told us, ‘No. Let’s just do it.’ “
Before their introduction, both had been previously married. Streisand was married to Elliott Gould from 1963 to 1971. James was married to Jan Smithers from 1986 to 1995, and before that, Jane Cameron Agee.
James recalled Streisand’s first reaction to meeting him the evening of July 1, 1996. The pair tied the knot exactly two years later.
“We met there. I didn’t look at all like she had thought I would because I’d been, for seven years all bearded and curly-haired in Hotel. She saw me and went, ‘That’s not the guy I came to see.’ I had cut off all my hair. She finally came up to sit with all the people at the table and came behind me and said, ‘Who f—– up your hair?’ ” he laughed.
“Well, that’s when I fell in love. I thought, ‘This girl tells the truth right from the beginning. I’m crazy about her,'” The Car actor continued. “And then we’ve really been pretty much together ever since then.”
