Dakota Johnson is trading in her go-to transparent for elegant silk.
After recently stepping out in a fabulous see-through skirt and top set, the Materialists star opted for a black silk dress for the New York City premiere of her new film, starring Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal.
Held at DGA Theater on Saturday evening, Johnson posed on the red carpet in the slinky dress, which featured a draped one-shoulder design with a scarf neck sash that flowed behind the actor like a ribbon train.
The Persuasion star accessorized the Gucci dress with black strappy sandals and long, chandelier diamond earrings that blended into her straight glossy locks. She kept her makeup natural but glowy, with a luminous bronze look and a pop of pinkish-nude lip color from Beauty Pie cosmetics.
Later, on the Materialists red carpet, the Fifty Shades of Grey star posed alongside Evans and a large cardboard head cut-out of Pascal, who wasn’t physically present at the premiere. Johnson and Evans made sure to let Pascal know he was missed, each taking turns kissing the cut-out as the Madame Web actor held it in her hand.
While Johnson is know for her love of a good naked dress, a style which she has worn on several occasions from Cannes to Los Angeles, she is also a fan of a stylish silk slip.
Last September, the star kicked off New York Fashion week at a star-studded Bulgari event where she looked once again effortlessly elegant in a chocolate-brown silk slip featuring a plunge V-neckline with a transparent lace bust. Styled with a bronze coin pendant adored with pavé diamonds, Johnson successfully put her own boho-chic spin on the lingerie dress trend.
