Former CNN host Jim Acosta invoked President Donald Trump’s deceased ex-wife Ivana Trump during a Monday rant about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

ICE conducted raids in the Los Angeles area, sparking days of riots. On “The Contrarian,” Acosta suggested ICE should instead raid Trump’s properties — one of which is the burial site of Ivana Trump. (RELATED: Dem Rep Really Upset That ICE Agents Wore Masks When Making Arrests)

“I got a question though: where are the ICE raids at the Trump properties? … Could somebody call ICE on the Trump golf course in Virginia? You’re telling me there’s nobody in there that is undocumented or has some kind of squirrelininess going on with their paperwork?” Acosta said. “Give me a break! Hey, how many immigrants has he married? He’s got one buried at his golf course in New Jersey! Isn’t she buried by the first hole or the second tee or something like that?

“Immigrants always doing the jobs that Americans don’t wanna do!” he added. “Isn’t that what the deal is?”

Ivana Trump, who was also the mother of the president’s three eldest children, passed away at the age of 73 in 2022. She was a Czechoslovakian-American former model and married Trump in 1977, with the two divorcing in 1992.

Ivana Trump’s grave is by the first hole at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The illegal migrants targeted by ICE raids that have prompted riots in Los Angeles have previously been convicted or arrested for heinous conduct such as murder, child molestation, cruelty to children and drug distribution, according to information published by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on June 9.

Acosta also expressed outrage on Thursday after Democratic California Sen. Alex Padilla’s ejection from a press conference held by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem about the raids and riots in Los Angeles.

“This is not how a United States senator is treated in this country. And the Trump administration and Secretary Kristi Noem — they should be ashamed of themselves right now,” the former CNN host said. “Anybody who works in that administration, they should be ashamed of what just took place moments ago in L.A., when the senator … simply tried to ask some questions. That should not result in you getting beaten up by the authorities — a bunch of thugs. They look like a bunch of fucking thugs.”

Acosta announced on Jan. 28 that he was leaving CNN after nearly 18 years, saying he had “decided to move on” after the network wanted to shift his program to the midnight time slot from 10 a.m.

He previously served as CNN’s White House correspondent during Trump’s first term and got into multiple heated clashes with the president and his staff. The White House suspended his access to the grounds in November 2018 following his refusal to let go of a microphone to an intern while questioning Trump.

In response to a lawsuit CNN submitted on Acosta’s behalf, Judge Timothy J. Kelly issued an injunction ordering that the White House reinstate his press pass, ruling that his Fifth Amendment right to due process was breached.
