One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder faced backlash from delusional critics after he called out protestors for failing to celebrate those who served our country.

Tedder addressed the nationwide “No Kings” protests that took place Saturday on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, calling it a “super bummer” that the rallies were taking away from the celebration of the nation’s armed services. The famous singer noted that his family has a long history of service.

“I have around 20 family members & grandparents that all fought in wars from the revolutionary war (actually) through to WWII/Korea.. all politics & parties and righteous indignation aside it’s a super bummer that instead of celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US Army and all those who have fought and died on our behalf… we’re protesting,” he said, according to a screenshot shared by Pop Crave Sunday.

The Instagram story has since expired, NME reported.

While many showed support for the star’s patriotism, some online trolls surfaced long enough to trash him, seemingly not realizing that their right to protest is protected by the very people whose celebration they were destroying.

Tedder went on to say, “I haven’t been a card carrying political member of either side for 20 years & think at this point everything is absurd 99% of the time…”

“But I’d like to say THANKYOU to all of the Army service members active and retired and those who have given their lives to protect our freedom…to protest,” he continued.

An internet user commented on the star’s post, saying, “Ryan Tedder might wanna get a reality check. This isn’t about ‘celebrating’. This is about saving what’s left of this country. If he really cared about the people and country, he’d be out here with us. Fighting for the next 250 years, not just looking pretty. How are people this blind?”

“Bro on his own wave,” another person wrote.

“Always liked Ryan and One Republic. This is tone def, and unfortunately no longer will listen/support,” another user wrote.

The unhinged comments were met with opposition from others that rose to the surface to support Tedder’s perspective.

One user wrote, “Good for him! Yes we support our U.S. service members! 👏,” and another individual chimed in to say, “He’s correct. Patriotism is for winners, whining is for losers.”

President Donald Trump supported the military parade that flooded the streets in Washington, D.C, Saturday.

More than 6,000 soldiers marched alongside 128 tanks in a show of force to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, and the display coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday, according to Billboard. (RELATED: ‘No Kings’ Protestors Are Wrong About Flag Day)

An estimated three to five million Americans attended more than 2,100 “No Kings” protest events across the nation, the outlet noted.
