As any avid Dollar Tree shopper will tell you, there are plenty of deals to be found in the store (and online). In addition to the everyday low prices, you could save even more by signing up for the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club loyalty rewards program.

This program might not come with any birthday perks or freebies like that, but if you’re looking for new ways to save money on your next trip to the Dollar Tree, you’re in the right place. GOBankingRates reached out to Philip Aves — an avid Dollar Tree shopper as well as the founder and CEO of DevSquad — for more details on the rewards program.

Keep reading to find out how it can help you save even more.

Budget-Friendly Solutions

The best way to save money at Dollar Tree is to sign up for the store’s Value Seekers Club loyalty reward program. You can create an account online. All you’ll need to do is provide some basic information like:

  • Your first and last name

  • Address with zip code (optional)

  • Phone number

  • Email address (plus verification)

  • Password

Once you sign up, according to the website, you’ll “be the first to know about new arrivals online, in-store specials and events, fun ideas and inspiration and more!”

For Alves, one big way Dollar Tree has saved him money is through its DIY home solutions — something you can learn more about after signing up (or simply by checking the online catalog or visiting a store near you).

“Instead of buying expensive organizational tools or decor, I find items like storage bins, glass jars or even craft supplies and repurpose them for custom, budget-friendly solutions around the house,” said Alves. “You’re saving money not just on the products but on the potential big-ticket alternatives you’d usually buy elsewhere.”

With Dollar Tree’s unique and creative recipes, the sky’s the limit on what you can get, create and repurpose.

This isn’t only the case with DIY home solutions. Alves said he also saves on health and beauty products.

“[Dollar Tree] offers basic personal care items that rival brand-name products in quality, but at a fraction of the cost,” he said.

Again, you can find recipes or creative ideas for using these types of products once you become a member.

Early Access to Store Events and Specials

By signing up for the Value Seekers Club loyalty reward program — which is free to do, by the way — you’ll also be among the first to know about any in-store specials or events in your area, such as promotions or sweepstakes.

For example, Dollar Tree ran a contest from December 2019 to January 2020. It was open to legal residents (18+) of the contiguous 48 states and D.C. No purchase was necessary to enter. Each winner, of which there were five, received a $100 Dollar Tree gift card.

While there aren’t always events like this, becoming a member can give you the edge over the competition when one does come up.

Better yet, you can combine rewards points and promotions when shopping to maximize the savings.

Bonus Tips for More Savings

Use Rewards and Coupons

While not part of Dollar Tree’s loyalty program per se, frequent shoppers — like Alves — still look for other ways to save.

“I’m a firm believer in smart shopping strategies, and as a frequent Dollar Tree shopper, I’ve found a few unique ways to save even more,” said Alves.

One such way is to use manufacturers coupons, which can cut costs down even more. If you combine this with a rewards credit or debit card, you can also earn cash back on your purchases.

Certain sites, like TopCashback, will get you up to 2% back when shopping. The average TopCashback member gets more than $450 in cash back each year — all from doing their regular shopping.

And, of course, you can always check Dollar Tree’s Weekly Ad for in-store and online specials, events and ideas.

Check Out Dollar Tree’s Affiliate Program

You don’t necessarily have to be an avid Dollar Tree fan to sign up for their affiliate program. You won’t save money through this, but you can earn a small commission from it.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • 4% commission for Loyalty sites

  • 5% commission for Content sites

  • 1% commission on Coupon and Deal sites

  • 3% commission for any other type of site

You’ll also get regular Dollar Tree newsletters, which contain contests, promotions and any sales opportunities. If you do shop at the store (or online), you should take advantage of these for more savings.
