The company’s latest projection on store openings differs from plans announced in December 2024, when Lowe’s said it aimed to open 10 to 15 stores per year. According to a company spokesperson, the new projection of five to 10 new stores accounts for the time needed to “ramp up” the company’s opening efforts.

So far this year, the North Carolina-based home improvement store has opened two new stores in Texas and reopened another in North Carolina that was closed due to Hurricane Helene, a company spokesperson told USA TODAY.

Two new locations are set to open this year in Texas and Arizona, the spokesperson added.

Then, starting in 2026, Lowe’s plans to open 10 to 15 stores per year over the next few years.

Where is Lowe’s opening new locations in 2025?

Lowe’s said it has already opened locations in the following cities this year:

  • Magnolia, Texas

  • Fort Worth, Texas

  • Asheville, North Carolina (reopened following Hurricane Helene)

The company said these new locations are scheduled to open in 2025:

  • Georgetown, Texas

  • Maricopa, Arizona
