Get your electric guitars and drums out: Prime Video has unveiled the first-look photos of its new music drama “The Runarounds,” created by “Outer Banks” co-creator Jonas Pate. The eight-episode series will exclusively premiere this fall.
“The Runarounds” follows a group of recent high school graduates in Wilmington, North Carolina who come together to form a rock band the summer after graduating high school. United by their love of music and shared passion to chase stardom, the band throws themselves into the pursuit of achieving their dreams, all while falling in love and getting into trouble over the course of one summer. The series will feature an original soundtrack by the eponymous band, which was formed in 2022.

The series stars real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Gollihe. The cast includes Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur, and Shea Pritchard.
“The Runarounds” will be Pates’ first series after Netflix’s “Outer Banks,” which begins filming its fifth and final season later this year. The series is executive produced by Pate, Joon Yun, David Wilcox, Josh Pate, Shannon Burke, Scott Lambert and Lisa Mae Fincannon, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. “The Runarounds” is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television.

STARZ has renewed its docuseries “The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast” for a six-part season two. The documentary will feature an exclusive interview with Terry Flenory timed with the Season 4 release of “BMF” on June 6. The series dives deeper into the real-life stories of the Black Mafia Family figures who inspired the scripted series.
“The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast” follows the reality of the rise and fall of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), one of the most notorious drug syndicates in American history. The documentary tells the story of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest Tee” Flenory, two brothers who rose from the depths of poverty, navigating Detroit’s war on drugs. After rising from the streets of Detroit in the ’80s, the brothers became two of the most infamous drug traffickers in the United States. The second season will also have Flenory break the silence on the BMF for the first time on camera.
“BMF has made a profound impact on hip-hop and culture, and the success of our unscripted and scripted series is a testament to its iconic status in the zeitgeist,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for Starz. “Our audience is hungry for more and we’re excited to continue to expand their experience with this true story, featuring the real-life players of BMF, as well as a never-before-heard firsthand account from Terry himself.”
“The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast” is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (“BMF,” “Power Universe”) and Shan Nicholson (“Jerusalem: City of Faith and Fury” and “Rubble Kings”), who also serves as the series showrunner. Additional executive producers for the docuseries include Razan Ghalayini, Richard Perello and Stacey Offman, co-executive producers Khidija Rivera and Jessica Vale, and supervising producer Kenyatta Steans.

The animated comedy series “Haunted Hotel” will premiere September 19 on Netflix. Created and showrun by Matt Roller, “Haunted Hotel” follows a single mother of two as she struggles to run the Undervale, a haunted hotel where her estranged brother is now a resident.
The voice cast of “Haunted Hotel” includes Eliza Coupe, Will Forte, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson. Roller will executive produce with Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon and Steven Levy, while Erica Hayes will serve as supervising director.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” Roller said in a statement.
“Haunted Hotel is wildly inventive and I’m very grateful to Matt, Chris, Dan, and their team for bringing their talents to Netflix,” added Netflix director of adult animation Billy Wee. “They are phenomenal collaborators and I can’t wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show.”

“Butterfly,” a new spy-thriller series starring and executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim, will drop all six episodes Wednesday, August 13 on Prime Video. Based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel series by Arash Amel, “Butterfly” stars Kim alongside series regulars Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo and Louis Landau.
According to an official synopsis, the new spy thriller follows David Jung, (Kim) “an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him. He finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for.”
“Butterfly is the realization of a longtime dream to bring together American and Korean storytellers and create a show that bridges two cultures that I love deeply,” Kim said in a statement. Ken Woodruff serves as showrunner and co-creator for the adaptation alongside novelist Steph Cha. Kitao Sakurai directed the first two episodes of the series.

Amazon Prime Video has released the full-length trailer for the mystery thriller, “We Were Liars.” All eight episodes will be available on the platform on June 18.
Based on the novel by E. Lockhart, the series follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman, a wealthy teenage girl and her inner circle called the Liars, vacationing on a New England private island for the summer. After suffering from a car accident, she struggles to remember the events that happened and discovers that her Liars have something to hide.
The cast includes Emily Alyn Lind as Cadence Sinclair Eastman, Shubham Maheshwari as Gat Patil, Esther McGregor as Mirren Sinclair Sheffield, Joseph Zada as Johnny Sinclair Dennis, alongside Caitlin FitzGerald as Penny Sinclair, Mamie Gummer as Carrie Sinclair, Candice King as Bess Sinclair, Rahul Kohli as Ed Patil, and David Morse as Harris Sinclair.
The series is written and executive-produced by co-showrunners Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie. Emily Cummings, Brett Matthews, Pascal Verschooris and Lockhart are also executive producers on the series.

MGM+ has released new key art and first-look images for Jack Bender’s “The Institute.” Directed and executive produced by Bender with a teleplay by Benjamin Cavell, the series follows teen genius Luke Ellis (Joe Freeman) who awakens at the titular Institute, a facility full of “children who are all possessed of unusual abilities,” according to an official synopsis.
“In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Ben Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.”
“The Institute” stars Freeman and Barnes alongside Mary-Louise Parker as Ms. Sigsby, Simone Miller as Kalisha, Fionn Laird as Nick, Hannah Galway as Wendy, Julian Richings as Stackhouse, Robert Joy as Dr. Hendricks and Martin Roach as Chief Ashworth. The series is executive produced by Bender and Stephen King, Benjamin Cavell, Gary Barber, Sam Sheridan and Ed Redlich.
