Ready or not, here it comes — again! “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” the sequel to Searchlight’s 2019 horror hit “Ready or Not,” will hit theaters nationwide on April 10, 2026.

Much of the creative team from “Ready or Not” is reuniting for the sequel, including directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, as well as writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Production designer Andrew Stearn (“The Umbrella Academy”), director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz (“Scream”), costume designer Avery Plewes (“Scream VI”) and makeup head of department Colin Penman (“The Apprentice”) also return.

New additions to the crew include editor Jay Prychidny (“Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”), hair department head Ryan Reed (“It Chapter Two”) and sound mixer Thomas Hayek (“Thanksgiving,” “The Boys”).

“Ready or Not” stars Weaving as a young bride who unwittingly marries into a family of ultra-wealthy devil-worshippers intent on killing her before sunrise in a murderous game of hide and seek. The movie, which also included Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell and Henry Czerny, cost only $6 million to make but earned $28 million domestically, becoming Searchlight’s biggest release of 2019.

Principal photography on the sequel began in April in Toronto, and Searchlight announced today that production has wrapped. Plot details remain under wraps. Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak serve as producers. Executive producers are Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Busick, Murphy, Weaving and Paul Neinstein.

VP of production Richard Ruiz and creative executive Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to heads of production and development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
