A cast member from the UK hit 90 Day Fiancé says GLP-1 injections helped not only diminish her appetite, but also curbed her desire to drink alcohol.
Shane Harding, 29, would drink 3 to 4 nights a week, sometimes finishing two bottles of wine per night, the self-described “borderline alcoholic” said, according to The New York Post. She said she struggled with her weight, but her doctor told her to “move more and eat less,” which left her in tears.

When she struggled to fit in a size 24 and weighed 264 lbs., Harding started privately purchasing a GLP-1 medication, which is short for glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists; examples are semaglutide and tirzepatide, which work in the brain to impact satiety. They’ve become trendy tools for weight loss.
Since starting the medication in June 2024, Harding has lost approximately 84 lbs. But the main difference isn’t just in how much food she wants to eat; the reality star says it’s impacted her “alcohol consumption.”
“I was borderline alcoholic, I would drink three to four times a week,” she says, per the outlet. “Now, I don’t crave it, I don’t need it. If I do have a drink, I will have a glass. Day to day, I have no craving for alcohol.”

The medicine, she says, “has completely changed my life and my relationship with alcohol.”
Harding shares that her diet has changed as well; Before starting the medication, “I would make hearty meals like pasta, cottage pie and traditional English food. I would wake up and be hungry. Once that hunger had worn off, I would eat something,” she said, according to the outlet. “But now, that voice inside your head telling you that you are hungry is gone.”
She’s now nearing her goal weight of 168 lbs. and is planning skin surgery and a tummy tuck for this July. “I was miserable within myself … Anytime I had to look in the mirror, I could cry,” she said.

“But now, I feel confident, I’m happy within myself, and I love looking at myself in the mirror,” said Harding, who plans to taper off the medication after hitting her goal.
“I am hoping I have changed my relationship with food enough, and my habits so much that I can carry on with my lifestyle.”
