‘80s ‘Outlaw’ Country Legend, 76, Brings Travis Tritt on Stage and Their Performance Was Seriously Impressive originally appeared on Parade.
Country music like any other genre has gone through its phases. There was something truly special about the late ’80s and early ’90s that just spoke to people. During that time so many icons rose up, but no one did it quite like Hank Williams Jr, 76. As the descendant of another icon, Hank Williams, the ’80s country icon is known for his “rowdy” rocker style and unapologetic lyrics.
Recently he performed at the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and brought out fellow icon from the ’90s Travis Tritt to sing on his classic hit “Family Tradition,” and fans were utterly thrilled to see the two on stage together again.
The pair, both in their golden years, each took turns with different lines from the song, and the audience was totally into it.
“Two of my favorite country music singers. This is real country music,” said one satisfied fan.
“This was so much fun!!! Love Hank Jr and Travis Tritt,” added another.
“Real country music icons right there,” agreed another.
Hank Williams Jr., a 2020 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, first got together with Tritt on the The Country Comfort Tour presented by Fruit of Loom in 1997. They toured alongside The Charlie Daniels Band and Jo Dee Messina for a truly memorable show.
