’70s ‘Rocky Horror’ Heartthrob, 80, Stuns Fans With ‘Great Head of Hair’ During Rare Appearance originally appeared on Parade.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and fans are just as obsessed with the cast members of the cult-classic film — including Barry Bostwick, who played the iconic character Brad Majors.
In a recent TikTok video, Bostwick, 80, made his way through Raleigh–Durham International Airport in North Carolina following his appearance at GalaxyCon in Raleigh. The actor was dressed casually for travel, wearing a gray zip-up hoodie over a white shirt and beige pants as he pushed his suitcases through the terminal — but fans were too distracted by his hair to notice anything else.
“What a great head of hair at 80,” one person gushed, with a second agreeing, “He moves pretty fast for 80 and still has good hair.”
“He must use purple shampoo on that awesome white hair,” someone else pointed out, as someone else declared, “Always an icon.”
Other commenters were slightly confused about Bostwick’s identity, confusing him for another famous actor.
“I thought that was James Brolin,” somebody admitted, as another wondered, “Isn’t that the actor married to Barbra Streisand?”
In a 2024 interview with People, Bostwick said he continues to be surprised by how many young people are fans of Rocky Horror.
“We’re now on our third generation of fans and they are just as enthusiastic as their grandparents,” he said. “The whole point of a new generation is to reject everything that has gone on socially or politically or whatever, but this movie just keeps bringing people in.”
“I can’t even say it is a movie anymore,” he continued, adding, “It’s a movement. It’s a movement that is gathering followers. We are like the church of Rocky Horror – the church of liberation. The whole ‘Don’t dream it, be it’ syndrome and it just keeps on getting more important.”
