Flowers
If you’ve passed by the Trader Joe’s flower section, you’ve likely noticed that prices on many of their flowers are lower than you might find elsewhere. For example, a 20-stem bunch of tulips from Trader Joe’s costs $12.99. However, if you got 20 stems of tulips from Sam’s Club, it would cost $49.48. That’s a savings of over $36.

Beer and Wine
If you purchase beer and wine from Target, Walmart, or a liquor store, you might find higher prices compared to similar products from Trader Joe’s. Some bottles of wine from Trader Joe’s are priced as low as $5.99, which is lower than you’ll find at any liquor store. You can also mix and match to create your own six-pack of beers from Trader Joe’s to find the ones you prefer.
Eggs
Even as egg prices surged around the country due to bird flu concerns, Trader Joe’s shoppers didn’t feel as much of the sting since the store chain has maintained relatively low prices compared to other grocery stores. Trader Joe’s keeps its egg prices low by getting eggs directly from suppliers and opting for private-label brands. One dozen large white eggs from Trader Joe’s currently costs $3.99. Meanwhile, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an average retail egg price of $4.54 in May.
Seasonings
Compared to the seasonings you’d find in a grocery store like Giant or Publix, the seasonings from Trader Joe’s are almost always cheaper. At a typical grocery store, seasonings like garlic powder, black pepper, oregano, and more can cost upwards of $6.99 for just two ounces. At Trader Joe’s, even the specialty seasonings they carry are under $3 each.
Silicone Food Storage Bags
If you’ve been looking for ways to eliminate more single-use plastics from your life, reusable food storage bags are an easy starting point. However, buying these from Target is far more expensive. A two-pack of sandwich-sized silicone bags costs $23.99. If you get these from Trader Joe’s instead, you’ll get a set of three sizes for $9.99, which saves you $14. There’s also a half-gallon version at Trader Joe’s, which is $16 cheaper than the half-gallon silicon food storage bag from Target at $21.99.
Orgain Protein Powder
If protein smoothies are a regular part of your day, a clean protein powder like Orgain makes the perfect addition. But did you know you could find it cheaper at Trader Joe’s? A 17.3-ounce container of vanilla or chocolate Orgain organic protein powder costs $14.99 at Trader Joe’s. In comparison, Target carries the same brand with slightly less for $19.99.
