Chevrolet Equinox EV

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $34,995

“The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is an option for those who want to go electric without breaking the bank,” said Katie Weissert, sales director of Reindeer Logistics.

Weissert pointed out the pluses that the middle class can find in the Equinox EV, including that the car has up to 319 miles of range on the front-wheel drive model.

“It’s a spacious ride that seats five adults, so it’s perfect for families,” Weissert said. “With both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options, it’s a versatile electric vehicle that combines eco-friendly driving with a smooth ride.”

Honda CR-V

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $31,550

According to Andrew Franks, co-founder of Claimsline, the Honda CR-V is a reliable vehicle that is fantastic for middle-class drivers seeking a long-term investment with low maintenance costs.

“This crossover sports an enormous cabin alongside sufficient trunk space; catering perfectly to families or individuals who regularly need to transport goods,” Franks explained. “Family vacations or even day-to-day commutes are made easier with the peace of mind derived from the high safety ratings achieved by the car.”

Franks noted that the CR-V “not only excels in safety, but is also fuel efficient, making it easier to manage fuel expenses in the long term.”

Toyota RAV4

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $31,000

“RAV4s are built while maintaining the core philosophy of Toyota’s dependability,” Franks said, highlighting that the added hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions provide alternative driving solutions that are both environmentally friendly and budget conscious.

“Moreover, the RAV4 has great resale value, which is another perk if you decide to sell or swap up. Plus, the vast range of safety features afforded to the vehicle aid in the driver’s confidence,” Franks said.

Mazda CX-5

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $30,265

Franks admitted that the Mazda CX-5 “isn’t exactly a car for everyone.” That said, it may be the right choice for some. “If you appreciate good style and want to have some fun while driving, it is perfect for you,” Franks said.

“[The] car’s exquisite, stylish and appealing design places it at the top of the competition, and the driving experience is engaging enough for the users to set it apart for everybody who appreciates something aside from practicality,” he said. “Not only is the sporty edge appealing, but the CX-5 also has good fuel economy, which makes it a good option for people who drive on a daily basis.”

Toyota Corolla Cross

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $25,585

For the Corolla Cross’ price point, Weissert called it “an affordable, reliable, fuel-efficient option for middle-class buyers.”

There’s a lot for middle-class drivers to like. “It has plenty of cargo space and excellent fuel economy,” Weissert said. “The back seat might be a bit cramped for taller passengers, but it’s still a good choice for smaller families or individuals.”

In Weissert’s professional opinion, the Corolla Cross is perfect for those who want a reliable family car without breaking the bank.

Kia Sportage

  • 2025 starting MSRP: $28,785

The perfect blend of affordability and quality features, the Kia Sportage might be the ideal car for the middle class.

“It has an extensive warranty, which alleviates the user and protects them from sudden repair bills,” Franks said. “Advanced technologies are included in the crossover’s infotainment system, which makes the driving experience cozy and connects them while on the go.”

It also has a nice design that appeals to drivers. “Its modern sculptural design and stylish finishing appeals to many users who care about aesthetics and appeal,” Franks said.
