If you’re in the market for a new SUV, now could be the time to buy. While tariffs are threatening to drive up the price of imported cars and parts, some automakers are absorbing the cost so consumers don’t for now, per NPR.

Of course, that’s not the only reason why you can grab a good deal. Many SUVs are significantly dropping in price, and car experts have weighed in on which models and why the price tags are reduced.

Toyota bZ4X

If you’re considering making the switch to all electric, the 2025 Toyota bZ4X offers plenty of safety and tech features, and the price tag has been slashed. According to a Toyota press release, the XLE grade is a staggering $6,000 below the MSRP. In addition, the Limited grade is a whopping $5,380 under the MSRP.

“The 2025 Toyota bZ4X electric SUV received a huge price reduction of 14%, which lowered its starting price to $37,070 from its original $43,070,” said Alan Gelfand, Owner of German Car Depot.

According to Gelfand, the lowered cost is to help compete with the EV market and reduce high inventory “due to slow sales and poor reception of their new electric SUV.” He went on to say that, “this puts Toyota at the forefront of the Japanese electric SUV race, making the bZ4X the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to a reliable and affordable electric SUV.”

2025 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid

The 2025 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid also received a $2,100 price reduction, per Diehl Automotive, with the base FWD price starting at $38,400, according to Motortrend.

In addition, “The Active trim received a price reduction of $1,395, which brought its starting price to $28,150, a 1.5-liter turbo with a good entry price with fewer features, but all the same reliability and power,” Gelfand said.

Rob Dillan, automotive expert and founder of EVhype, also acknowledged the price cut and added, “With a relatively low price and a list of advanced features, it makes it another choice for a fuel-efficient, reliable SUV for families on a budget.”

2025 Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V has been a best-seller for years, and customers can get one for a great deal this year, according to Dillan.

“In particular, dealerships have taken the knife to the price of 2025 Honda CR-Vs in most shops, with big discounts seen, with the EX trim equating to an average $1,303 under MSRP, as per car gurus, and the EX-L offering a big savings of $1,846 below MSRP.”

2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid

As of August 2025, customers can purchase a new Kia Sportage Hybrid for less than the MSRP.
Dillan noted the SUV is $1,828 cheaper than it was just a few months ago.

According to Dublin Kia, the base price was $30,460, and is now $28,632.

2025 Kia Seltos

The 2025 Kia Seltos is another SUV with a nice savings opportunity for drivers. According to Dublin Kia, the base price was $34,030, but as of August 2025, the cost is $32,669 — that’s a savings of $1,361.

“This price change makes the Seltos even more attractive, offering great value for customers looking for a balance of style, tech and utility without burning a hole in their pocket,” said Dillan.

For bargain hunters, 2025 could be the year to score a new SUV with heavily discounted prices. While costs have been cut, it’s unclear for how long, so don’t wait around to find out!
