Though not all countries use net worth as a measurement of wealth, it is the most widely used metric. What factors into your net worth? All your assets (including what’s in your bank accounts) minus what you owe (any and all debts). On average, people in wealthy countries have a higher net worth than people in poorer countries. Among the top 10 wealthiest countries in 2025 are Luxembourg, Switzerland, Iceland and the U.S. These four countries are also among the top five where people hold the highest net worth individually, on average.
