2025 World Series odds: Dodgers favored to open regular season

The countdown to the 2025 MLB Fall Classic has officially begun, as Opening Day is this Thursday.

The Dodgers blew past the Yankees in the 2024 World Series, winning 4-1 to earn their second title in the past five years.

With a revamped pitching staff, will L.A. make it three in six years? Or, will the Mets — whom the Dodgers defeated in the 2024 NLCS — make a run after the addition of Juan Soto?

Let’s take a look at the odds to win next year’s Fall Classic at DraftKings Sportsbook as of March 26.

World Series winner 2025:

Los Angeles Dodgers: +275 (bet $10 to win $37.50 total)
Atlanta Braves: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
New York Yankees: +850 (bet $10 to win $95 total)

The Dodgers did not put a stop to their spending this offseason, putting the onus on their pitching rotation.

In November, they inked two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million deal. In January, Japanese pitching sensation Roki Sasaki announced that he would join the defending World Series champs ahead of next season.

Also in January, All-Star free-agent reliever Tanner Scott signed a four-year, $72 million deal with L.A, and this month, the Dodgers re-signed three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw.

The wealthy get wealthier.

And with that, the Dodgers’ are favored to repeat as World Series champions entering this season.

Still, going back-to-back in professional baseball has proven difficult in the history of the sport, meaning, although the Dodgers are favored to repeat, it will by no means be easy.

The last time a team won consecutive World Series, the Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, the Blue Jays repeated in 1993 after winning it all in 1992.

Arguably the most unique occurrence of consecutive titles happened between 1972 and 1978. The Athletics won three straight titles from 1972-1974, followed by the Reds going back-to-back in 1975 and 1976, before the Yankees won in 1977 and 1978.
