The 2025 US Open kicked off on Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, and as with each year, it was a star-studded opening night.
Celebrities from King herself to actor Alec Baldwin, fashion designer Vera Wang and Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour were spotted watching the men’s single as Novak Djokovic claimed an opening night victory over 19-year-old American Learner Tien. Other well-known faces spotted during US Open events include Tina Knowles, Spike Lee, Victor Cruz, Shonda Rhimes, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Connie Britton, Julianna Margulies and Chelsea Handler.
With $90 million in prize money at stake, the highest ever in the tournament’s history, the US Open marks the fourth and final Grand Slam event in tennis this year, trailing after the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon, all of which are also celebrity hotspots.

The US Open, now in its 145th year, is notable for attracting celebrity spectators. Last year, everyone from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to Lindsay Lohan and Kendall Jenner were spotted watching the game and cheering on athletes, while sipping on drinks. And much like Wimbledon, all stars bring their best fashion game to the courts.

The US Open commenced with the new Mixed Doubles format on Aug. 19 and 20. The main draw of the men’s and women’s singles tournament began on Sunday, Aug. 24 and will run through Sunday, Sept. 7.
